About

Sometimes I’m shy…

Sometimes I’m cynical…

I can be scared…

I can be mean…

I can be lazy…

sad…

irrational…

offensive…

I can be closed off to the world around me.

And sometimes, I can only see the worst in myself.

Five years ago my mother lost her long and treacherous battle with alcoholism. The daughter she left behind was an absolute mess of complicated grief.

But.

I’ve been working on that.

You see, I can also be adventurous…

brave…

strong…

funny…

caring…

giving…

empathetic…

determined…

driven…

and just a heck of a lot of fun.

I am a writer, explorer and Adult Child of an Alcoholic. This is the story of my journey from a dark place full of pain, fear, sadness, guilt, and so much more, to the wonderful, adventure-filled life I live today. With every post I write for this blog, I let go of pain, celebrate joy, and take a few more steps forward in my journey. I’ve learned in my five years of soul searching and amazing experiences that through struggle comes strength, and if you can’t laugh at life, you’ve already let it beat you. So please, join me on my quirky and unusual path to finding peace in an unstable world.

This is for myself and my loving mother – a troubled soul finally at rest.
